PESHAWAR: The Fakhr-i-Pakistan (Pride of Pakistan) Fakhar Zaman the champions of the International Cricket Council (ICC) Champion Trophy finally reached his village Katlung Tehsil of Mardan. The man of the match at the final against the India at the Oval, Fakhar received a hero like warmly welcome by the local people here Tuesday who showered flower petals on him upon their arrival in the village. Being part of major teams in Pakistan, including Abbottabad, Abbottabad Falcons, Habib Bank Limited, Karachi Blues, Karachi Dolphins, Karachi Zebras, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Lahore Qalandars, Pakistan A, Pakistan Navy and Peshawar attained stardom at the final against India. Left-hand batsman Fakhar also spoke to the media in the presence of thousands people who gathered at his village to meet him. Fakhar said while addressing a press conference that the Pakistani team was really under pressure after losing its match against India but the team made a full comeback at the final. He said that one day before the final he seriously felt ill during training but with the prayers of the nation he recovered soon and become part of the team in the final match against India. Plying against South Africa in the tournament, he explained gave him an outstanding boost for the final match, adding that he has always tried its level best to play natural game. My mother has always advised me to play the game with full attention and always concentrate on plying cut shorts instead of plying long shorts he smiled and thanked his mother on the occasion.
