Air Marshal (r) Javaid Ahmed has assumed the charge of vice chancellor of Air University, Islamabad, according to a press release issued by the university. He has served Pakistan Air Force (PAF) for about 40 years and remained on various key positions, including chairman of Pakistan Aeronautical Complex (PAC) Kamra, commandant of Combat Commanders School, and chief project director of JF-17 Fighter aircraft production program. He is a renowned expert of aerospace development policies and doctrine formulation and implementation strategies. He is the graduate of defense & strategic studies form Air War College and also did his master in War Studies from National Defense University, Islamabad. He possesses high command and management skills along with advanced knowledge of emerging fields in academia. He has also served as Director Policy and Doctrine at Center for Aerospace and Security Studies (CASS), Islamabad. In recognition of his meritorious services at Pakistan Air Force, he has been decorated with Tamgha-e-Imtiaz, Sitara-e-Imtiaz and Hilal-e-Imtiaz (Military). His appointment as vice chancellor of the country’s top-ranked university has been hailed in academia and learned community. The registrar, directors, deans, heads of departments and other officials of Air University have felicitated Air Marshal (r) Javaid Ahmed on his appointment and assured full support in accomplishment of university’s mission under his leadership.
