Sindh High Court (SHC) on Tuesday ordered assistant attorney general to appear with reply in next hearing in case regarding to scandal of Fazaia Housing Scheme (FHS) Karachi. A SHC bench heard a petition filed by two accused persons who are said to be father and son. At the outset of hearing, the law ministry and other respondents sought more time for submitting reply. The bench lashed out at assistant attorney general and ordered him to appear with reply. The bench remarked that federal government’s negligence in an important case is strange. The court ordered National Accountability Bureau (NAB’s) prosecutor and assistant attorney general to come in next hearing with full preparation and bring necessary documents. However, the court extended the interim bail of Attaul Khair and other accused persons until 13rd February. The counsel of accused submitted that despite getting bail by the court, his clients were still arrested. At which, NAB prosecutor replied that court had not stopped from arresting them but the court had said in judgment that illegal inquiry not be conducted against accused. NAB prosecutor said accused were arrested for investigation over the allegations of ‘cheat’. According to NAB, the inquiry was conducted on the complaints of Fazaia Housing Scheme affectees. There are 6000 people who have been affected by this cheat. It also claimed that Rs13 billion were invested by citizens in this scheme, which is hit by cheat scandal.
