The inflow of tourist to Galiyat, including Nathiagali, the top tourist summer resort of Pakistan, has registered a marked increase of 139 percent in December last as compared to the corresponding period due to improved road infrastructure and steps taken by the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KPK), government for tourism promotion official sources told news men, Sunday. According to an official of Tourism Corporation of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, over two hundred thousand local and foreign tourists visited different valleys of Galiyat during the last month as compared to 85,600 tourists in December, 2018. He said the tendency in increase of tourist inflow is continuing as only Galiyat hosted over fifty three thousand travel enthusiasts during the first ten days of New Year 2020. In addition, the main reason behind the increased tourist influx are the improvement in tourism infrastructure, timely clearance of snow from roads, better traffic management and promotional campaigns launched on the behest of the KPK’s government.
