LAHORE: Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) leader and former Punjab governor Chaudhry Muhammad Sarwar has demanded mitigation of violence and terrorism in Kashmir as well as release of all detained Kashmiri leaders, including Yasin Malik. He was addressing the members of the House of Commons in London on Tuesday as special envoy dispatched by his party, PTI. He drew the attention of Englishmen on the Indian oppression in the disputed valley as well as its false claim of conducting surgical strikes inside Pakistan. Sarwar termed the Indian claim of conducting surgical strikes a drama, saying that everyone should remember that Pakistan possesses capability to answer any aggression of India, adding that “our army is fully prepared and ready to curtail any attack on the country’s sovereignty”. He said Pakistan always talked about peace but India refused to ascertain our efforts. During his speech, he said that continuous torture of Kashmiri people and imposition of curfew in the area was tantamount to worst form of oppression, which required attention of the world. He said that targeting innocent children and women was a form of genocide, and urged the international human rights organisations and United Nations to play due role in saving the Kashmiris from Modi’s government. Highlighting the atrocities of Indian authorities and informing the members of House of Commons about Indian aggression in Kashmir, he said that India started violence to disrupt peace in the region, adding that in order to attain durable peace, Kashmir issue needs solution according to resolutions of UN General Assembly. Commenting over the issue of political detentions of Kashmiri freedom fighters, he said India can neither suppress the voice of Kashmiri people nor can stop the mission of Burhan Wani, adding that medical condition of Yasin Malik is deteriorating and he should be released along with other political prisoners immediately.
