To commemorate World AIDS Day, an awareness workshop was held at Government Commerce College, Jamrud on Wednesday. The activity was organized under the banner of district AIDS control programme and people of all walk of life participated in the moot. Deputy Commissioner, Khyber Mehmood Aslam Wazir who was the chief guest on the occasion while addressing to the gathering said that last days with assistance of district AIDS control programme AIDS screen tests of 1015 locals was carried and only two were found HIV positive, however their treatment was in progress. He maintained that it was need of time to further conduct screen tests of rest population of the district to accumulate comprehensive data regarding the disease. DC assured that legal action would be taken against all quacks throughout the district who were stated to be the major cause of spreading of AIDS by utilizing one syringe repeatedly. At the end the participants took out a rally to Bab-e-Khyber and dispersed peacefully.
