Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz Chief, Nawaz Sharif has left Jati Umra for Lahore airport’s Haj Terminal, from where he will be taken abroad for medical treatment in a “high-end” air ambulance. The air ambulance arrived in Lahore from Doha early morning. Large Number of PML-N workers gathered to bid farewell to Nawaz Sharif. PML-N spokesperson Marriyum Aurangzeb while speaking to local news channel said that doctors conducted a thorough medical test in the morning. “If Nawaz Sharif had left 15 days earlier, then his treatment would have already started by now,” Aurangzeb said. “Nawaz will have to be taken to US for treatment.” We will consult the doctors in London and then take a decision, she said, adding Nawaz was kept on high dose medicine for 15 days According to immigration sources, Nawaz’s medical files have been handed over to the medical team that will be traveling with the former prime minister in the air ambulance. Once Nawaz arrives, doctors will first check his blood sugar level and blood pressure. A complete blood count test will also be carried out. Nawaz will be accompanied abroad by his personal physician Dr. Adnan Khan and party president Shehbaz Sharif. Raja Zafarul Haq, Ahsan Iqbal, Khawaja Asif, Marriyum Aurangzeb will be at the Hajj lounge to see off the former prime minister. Sources further said 21 senior PML-N leaders have been allowed to go till Hajj lounge at the airport. Earlier, in a statement, Secretary Information of PML-N, Maryam Aurangzeb said Nawaz Sharif will initially be shifted to the United Kingdom where doctors will analyze his condition and decide if he would be treated there or moved to another country. The administration of Allama Iqbal International Airport has completed the preparations after receiving a copy of the Lahore High Court’s verdict that allowed Nawaz Sharif to travel abroad. An intensive care unit and an operation theater has been set up in the air ambulance and a team of doctors and paramedics will also be on board, Dr. Khan said in a tweet last night. A team of doctors and paramedics will be on board.” The development comes a day after the interior ministry issued a notification, allowing the former prime minister to travel abroad for medical treatment, saying that the decision was an “interim arrangement” in the light of the Lahore High Court’s (LHC) order, which was passed last week. The Interior Ministry has issued notification regarding permission to ex-Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif for one time travel abroad for medical treatment. According to the official notification, the permission has been granted to him for a period of four weeks during his bail period in compliance with the order of Lahore High Court.
