ISLAMABAD: Defence Minister Khawaja Asif claimed on Friday that Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf plans to ‘occupy’ the interior, finance and planning commission ministries at Pak Secretariat. The minister also said that the PTI leadership wanted to take control of the P, Q and R blocks of the secretariat. Asif said if they ‘occupy’ these blocks it would be easy for them to stay there as essentials are available there and they cannot be arrested easily from there. “Under this situation we will not allow anyone to enter Red Zone and try to challenge the writ of the government. Police has been given leading role this time and they are doing their duty,” the defence minister said. On the other hand, Interior Minister Chaudhry Nisar Ali Khan met Nawaz Sharif at the Prime Minister’s House and briefed him about the security measures taken in the federal capital. Both discussed the latest situation in twin cities as well, sources told Daily Times. Nawaz cleared that no one would be allowed to attack state. “In 2014 we showed maximum resilience and restraint but they took benefit from it and attacked parliament and other state institutions but this time the government would make sure safety and security of these institutions,” sources quoted Nawaz as saying. Nisar told Nawaz about the measures taken to stop PTI to lockdown the federal capital on November 2. He also said that Kaptaan has been informed that Section 144 has been imposed in the capital. The interior minister also took Nawaz into confidence on his meeting with Chief of Army Staff General Raheel Sharif on Thursday.
