A meeting scheduled between Jamiat Ulema-e-Islam-Fazl (JUI-F) chief Maulana Fazlur Rehman and former prime minister Nawaz Sharif at Services Hospital in Lahore Wednesday was cancelled as doctors didn’t allow the former to meet PML-N supremo over his health condition. The JUI-F chief was due to inquire after Nawaz Sharif, who is under treatment at the hospital since October 21 owing to fluctuation in his platelets count. Talking to reporters, Fazl confirmed that he could not meet the PML-N chief at the hospital because doctors didn’t allow the meeting. “They said that Nawaz Sharif’s health condition is not satisfactory hence no visitors are allowed to meet him … the plan has thus been let go off,” he said. Reports said the platelet count of the former prime minister has reached 39,000 and doctors are of the view that it will be dangerous for Nawaz Sharif if more medicine is given to raise the platelets. The medical board has stopped IVI injection therapy of Nawaz Sharif, saying he can live with 30,000 platelets. Reports said Nawaz is suffering from kidney and cardiac problems due to which his health condition is not stable. On Wednesday, the former prime minister moved to the dental ward of the hospital to have his checkup. He was accompanied by head of medical board Dr Ayyaz. A photo of Nawaz Sharif under treatment at the VVIP room of the Services Hospital was also released by some TV channels Wednesday. It can be seen in the picture that a doctor is taking blood samples of Nawaz Sharif for medical tests. Nawaz can be seen wearing a white shalwar kameez.
