LAHORE: The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB), in a new experiment, has issued an advertisement for the position of coordinator for the National Selection Committee. The ideal candidate is required to be a level-two coach and possess international cricket experience. The main duty of the position would be to serve as a liaison between the coaches of the six provincial teams and the head coach-cum-chief selector Misbahul Haq. “The individual will act as a bridge between the six coaches/selectors and the Chief selector with a view to ultimately supporting the chief selector,” the PCB advert stated. The PCB however, has clarified that the new coordinator would not be a part of the selection committee. He will be responsible for making a detailed performance report according to the instructions of the six coaches and then sharing the findings with the chief selector. “Monitor and maintain profiles and stats of all high performers participating in domestic tournament and communicate to the National Selection Committee. Observe domestic cricket matches of all formats to track talent for the purpose of recommending a backup pool of players. Preparing detailed reports on players,” the PCB advert added. According to sources, former cricketer Nadeem Khan is being considered the front-runner for the position.
