ISLAMABAD: The Khyber Pakhtunkhwa National Accountability Bureau (NAB) and National Highway Authority (NHA) have locked horns on the appointment of a ‘corrupt’ officer as NHA member administration. Daily Times broke this news a few days ago that the federal government has decided to appoint Sher Mehsud as the NHA member admin. Mehsud was allegedly involved in corruption worth millions of rupees. The federal government appointed Mehsud because NHA Chairman Shahid Ashraf Tarar and Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif’s son-in-law Captain Safdar made ground for his appointment. On the other hand, the KP NAB had summoned Mehsud and probed him over corruption charges. Mehsud is allegedly involved in Rs 700 million corruption. Sources said the KP NAB had recorded his statement in this regard. The KP NAB has sought explanation from the NHA in this regard. Sources said the NHA had shown no cooperation, but the KP NAB has decided to complete the inquiry. They added the KP NAB would summon Mehsud again.
