LAHORE: Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) leader and former Punjab governor Chaudhry Muhammad Sarwar said that corruption and terrorism have become a threat for the existence of Pakistan. He was addressing the audience at a breakfast hosted by PTI Cantt Youth Wing General Secretary Zain Ahmed Shaikh. Other youth members on the occasion included Zubair Niazi, Hammad Azar, Waseem Ramay and Ramzan Niazi. Sarwar emphasised the role of youth in politics of Pakistan, saying that it was imperative to impart democratic value to the young minds of the country. He called for putting an end to the menace of terrorism, as prosperity of the country was not possible without elimination of terrorists and their facilitators. “The entire country is united against terrorism,” he reiterated. Sarwar said PTI always believed in democracy, but it could not be established unless those who express their choice were prepared to choose wisely. He said that democracy could only prevail if there was indiscriminate accountability. “A comprehensive implementation on the National Action Plan is essential for the survival of the country. The rulers must revisit their priorities in order to facilitate the masses in real sense,” he added. The PTI stalwart said his party was standing with the Pakistan Army in war against terrorism, which must be curtailed by understanding the groups behind it. “PTI believes in politics of principle, which will never be compromised,” he asserted, adding that only PTI could ensure implementation of the Constitution of Pakistan as well as principles of democracy. He offered condolences to families of the martyrs of Shah Noorani Shrine blast and urged the government and the army to take action against the militant organisations.
