At least 300 patients were treated at a free medical camp set up at the Basic Health Unit (BHU) Torkham, Landi Kotal, on Saturday. The people’s welfare activity was organised under the auspices of the National Logistic Cell (NLC), Torkham. The ailing masses included a large number of women and children of the Bacha Mena and the adjacent areas of Torkham border, who thronged to the free medical camp and were examined by qualified doctors. For the first time, the services of lady doctors were provided at the camp. As per the official of the NLC, the medical camp was part of efforts to provide quality healthcare facilities to the tribesmen of Khyber tribal districts at their doorstep. He said that such free medical camps would also be set up in different areas in the near future. The residents of the locality lauded the charity activity of the NLC and asked for setting up more camps to provide better health facilities to the tribesmen.
