ISLAMABAD: Chief of Army Staff (COAS) General Raheel Sharif has advised Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi to show courage and own deaths of its army personnel during the recent skirmishes at the Line of Control with the Pakistan Army, a private TV channel reported. “The day seven of our soldiers were martyred on the border, we killed at least 11 Indian soldiers,” the Express News channel quoted Gen Sharif as saying during an informal session with the journalists at the Aiwan-e-Sadr here. “We have killed 40-44 of their troops but the Indian army does not own its casualties,” he said. The army chief said that Prime Minister Modi was fully cognizant of Pakistan’s military competence, and that aggression would not take his country anywhere, the channel reported. Earlier in the day, Gen Sharif witnessed military exercises Raad ul Barq in Khairpur Tamiwali, Multan along with Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif.
