ISLAMABAD: Four children embraced martyrdom due to Indian unprovoked firing on Line of Control (LoC) by on Saturday. The Pakistan Army responded in a befitting way and destroyed various Indian check posts. According to Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR) spokesman Lieutenant General Asim Bajwa, the Indian troops resort to unprovoked firing in Tander and Baroh areas of Bhimber sector to which they violated the ceasefire agreement on Chakoti sector and resorted unprovoked mortar shelling. Pakistani troops responded to Indian shelling and targeted Indian posts. He said that due to unprovoked Indian firing in Khuiratta in Vill Singhala four children four-year-old Riba, seven-year-old Faiza, while 3 others namely Mehmood, 16-year-old Shahzad and eight-year-old Shazia embraced martyrdom. “There was intense shelling since morning to 3pm, leaving one woman injured in Baroh village,” an official from Samahni police station told a private TV channel. The injured woman, identified as Tazeem Bibi, was shifted to district headquarters hospital, Mirpur, the official added. From 3pm onwards, shelling had started in Barnala tehsil. “It is indiscriminate but so far we have not received any report about casualties,” an official from Barnala police station said. A Foreign Office statement read, “Pakistan condemns the martyrdom of children at Khuiratta sector. We sympathise with the bereaved families and pray for the recovery of the injured.”
