A trailer carrying a North Atlantic Treaty Organization (NATO) supply container came under attack near Takhtha Baig checkpoint of Jamrud area on Friday morning. Police official Haji Khandad said that a long-wheel trailer carrying registration number LLS-3659, loaded with allied forces’ armor vehicle, was on its way to Torkham border from Karachi when it was attacked by unidentified militants on the Pak-Afghan highway near Thakhtha Baig filling station. As a result, the conductor of the trailer, identified as Muhammad Rahim s/o Miran Jan of Kam-Shelman, received injuries, while the vehicle was partially damaged. The armed persons managed to escape after committing the crime, the official said. Soon after the incident, the law enforcers arrived at the spot, cordoned off the area and initiated massive search operation, the official added. As per the administration official, 10 suspects have been apprehended so far, who were being interrogated. It is pertinent to be mentioned here that suspended for years, the NATO supply has resumed to Afghanistan via Torkham border.
