KALAM: Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) Chairman Imran Khan on Friday laid foundation stone for a mega electricity project which is to be developed in Kalam, Swat. Speaking to the media, Imran Khan said that the project holds a potential of generating 84MW and will cost Rs.20 billion. The PTI chief said the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa government has started six electricity projects in the province, for which 72 companies took part in the bidding process. “No provincial government has launched a project on such a mega scale before,” Khan said. He further said that the level of corruption in Pakistan is so high that it is dissuading potential investors from investing in the country. “Society prospers when corruption has been eliminated from the roots of its structure. Investments are not coming in because of corruption,” Khan claimed. He added that he would eradicate corruption within 90 days if he is elected to lead the country. Aiming at the federal government, Khan said that the federal government is prospering merely in advertisements.
