KARACHI: The Sindh High Court granted interim pre-arrest bail to the Sindh Small Industries Corporation (SSIC) director in connection with an inquiry initiated against him for alleged illegal auctioning of SSIC’s commercial bungalows and plots. A division bench headed by Justice Syed Muhammad Farooq Shah granted bail to him against the surety bonds of Rs750,000 and directed him to deposit his original passport with the court’s official. In his plea, Abdul Hai Dhamrah submitted that the NAB authorities had initiated an inquiry against him for allegedly auctioning commercial bungalows and plots illegally in Larkana, Sukkur and Hyderabad regions. Subsequently, he was issued a call-up notice in April, this year, to appear before them. Dhamrah, through his counsel, alleged that the NAB was conducting the inquiry against him with mollified intentions as it wanted to trump up baseless charges against him. Since the inquiry against him was underway, he has apprehended his unlawful arrest in the false and fabricated case, he said while requesting the judges to grant him bail.
