PESHAWAR: General Secretary Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP) Volleyball Association Khalid Waqar Chamkani on Thursday said that the association has decided to organize the All Pakistan Chief Ministers Volleyball Cup Tournament in January 2017. He said that the provincial volleyball association in collaboration with Pakistan volleyball federation had prepared a strategy to promote the volleyball game and find out talented players across the province. Teams from Punjab, Sindh, Balochistan, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Azad Jammu and Kashmir, Federally Administrated Tribal Areas (FATA) and from different departments would take part in the said tournament in Peshawar, he maintained. He expressed these views during the ongoing training camp for national junior volleyball players at Pakistan Sports Board Coaching Center Peshawar. He added that the association would also arrange training camps and competitions for men and women volleyball players at provincial level. The general secretary claimed that KP was a hub of volleyball and had more talented players as compare to other provinces. However, he demanded of the KP government to establish more gymnasiums at college and school levels under the supervision of KP volleyball association aimed at promoting the game.
