LAHORE: Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) Chairman Bilawal Bhutto Zardari is to visit Jati Umra Lahore on Sunday at the invitation of Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) Vice President Maryam Nawaz. According to PML-N sources, the party vice president extended the invitation during a telephonic conversation. The meeting will take place on Sunday at 1:30 pm and will be attended by a few close aides from both political parties. Sources said that the two leaders will discuss contemporary political situation following the 2019 budget announced by the government. In light of the announcement by PPP to start anti-government movement from June 21 in Nawabshaw, it is highly likely that the two may discuss possible alignment against the government. This meeting in Raiwind comes a few weeks after the leaders of PPP and PML-N met for iftar in a gesture aimed to display a united front against the ruling Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI). The PPP leader hosted PML-N’s top leadership including Hamza Shehbaz, Shahid Khaqan Abbasi and Ayaz Sadiq among others. The guest list also included representatives from major parties such as Aftab Khan Sherpao of Qaumi Watan Party (QWP) and Mohsin Dawar of the Pashtoon Tahffuz Movement. PPP leaders including Asif Ali Zardari (currently in NAB custody), Sherry Rehman and Raza Rabbani were also present at the occasion.
