The Sindh High Court (SHC) on Thursday issued notices to Sindh government, the Sindh Building Control Authority (SBCA), the Karachi Development Authority (KDA), the Karachi Metropolitan Corporation (KMC) and a private construction company on a petition filed against the blockage of Amir Khusro Road. An SHC bench heard the petition and directed the officials to submit their replies by May 28. Nasir Khan, the petitioner, stated that a private construction firm was using the residential scheme for commercial purpose on Amir Khusro Road. His counsel told the court that the road had been blocked and a school had been set-up in a residential bungalow. ”Atmosphere of residential area of KDA Scheme 1 is being affected,” he said. He said that the locals had filed a complaint in the government department, but nothing had been done so far. The court then adjourned the hearing till May 28.
