The Sindh High Court (SHC) on Tuesday directed the All Pakistan Newspaper Society (APNS) not to take any coercive action against the plaintiffs/members of the society on the basis of its resolution passed during its annual general meeting on March 30, 2019. This order was issued by Justice Arshad Hussain Khan during the first hearing for a case filed by Arif Nizami (Pakistan Today), Zia Shahid (Khabrain), Aijazul Haq (Express), Jabbar Khattak (Awaami Awaz), Rafique Afghan (Ummat), Anwar Sajdi (Intekhab), Rehmad Ali Razi (Taaqat), Tahir Farooqi (Ittehad), Mumtaz Ahmed Sadiq (Azadi Swat), Muhammad Sadiq Baloch (Balochistan Express), to change the clause of the APNS constitution. The filed case states that a publication group had teamed up with some members of the APNS and was dominating the body and hurting the interests of its members. Plaintiffs were represented by Tahmasp Rizvi Advocate.
