Hurdles in the way of the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) have taken their toll, as the political party started falling apart and getting divided into fractions due to misunderstandings and verbal dispute between two PTI’s bigwigs – Saifur Rehman and Khurram Sher Zaman – on the 23rd Foundation Day of the party. The incident proved to be a huge loss for the party whose workers also divided into two and started fighting each other, using batons, water bottles and chairs. On the other hand, the PTI leadership, including Firdous Shamim Naqvi and Khurram Sher Zaman, managed to flee the venue instead of trying to resolve the issue. It was learned during the foundation day of PTI that the colloquial fight began as soon as Haleem Adil Sheikh came to address the rally and a group of workers started taunting him and then expressed chanting slogan, “Go Haleem Go,”! Saifur Rehman after having verbal fight left the venue, which showed his inattentiveness toward the party or his mindfulness. The incident also made the people question the very basis of the political party, and wondered if the PTI was a party based on Insaf (justice), why on earth no action or notice had been taken against Saifur Rehman and Khurram Sher Zaman up till now. In Karachi, Haleem Adil Sheikh and Syed Firdous Shamim Naqvi are engaged in dividing the political party in Sindh. It is also a talk of the town that many new groups have starting springing up within the party nowadays, which were very active. Moreover, PTI senior leader Jahangir Khan Tareen is also connected with Sindh’s politics. According to sources, Jahangir Khan Tareen had earlier met the cabinet members from Sindh, including Federal Minister for Narcotics Control Sardar Ali Muhammad Khan Mahar and MNA from NA-246 Lyari Abdul Shakoor Shad to discuss the current political situation of Sindh. As the tussle between the Shah Mahmood Qureshi and Jahangir Khan Tareen groups for control in the PTI and the government seems to be escalating, hurting the party in the process, Tareen is also meeting Sindh PTI members to extend his power.
