Speaker Punjab Assembly Chaudhry Pervaiz Elahi instructed the law minister Raja Basharat to constitute a committee that will give proposals to deal with the increasing trend of drugs in the educational institutions. As per the details, PML-N lawmaker Rabia Farooqi highlighted the issue of drugs among the teenagers through her adjournment motion in the ongoing session of Punjab Assembly on Thursday while saying that the use of drugs in our educational institutions is increasing rapidly and therefore it demands prompt action by the government. “The educational institutions have become hub of drugs these days and the government should take concrete steps to control the menace as it is the issue of our future generations,” said Farooqi. PML-N’s Malik Ahmed Khan also raised similar concerns while demanding a committee of the House over the issue. The views of Khan were endorsed by the Chair who said that a committee should be constituted on this alarming issue with input from the concerned departments.
