HYDERABAD: The crime situation in Hyderabad district during the year 2016, as compared to the last year, has been satisfactory as the flow indicated a slash in the number, according to figures released by office of the SSP. Credit goes to present SSP Irfan Ali Baloch, who has been posted here since September 2014 as there is a decline in the number of cases registered at various police stations of the district. Last year, 3093 cases were registered while in 2016 the number has been quoted as 2529, which shows a difference of 564 cases. Number of murders in 2015 was 60, which has come down to 41 this year. Similarly, number of arson cases has come down from last year’s 101 to 80. The number of attacks on police parties was registered 361, while this year it has decreased to 212. Further, 60 rape cases were in record last year while 41cases have been registered in the year 2016. The number of gang rape cases has also declined from 4 to 1, kidnapping from 3 to 1 and kidnapping women for rape from 124 to 94, attempted suicide from 7 to 2 while snatching motor cycles from 44 to 16. Spokesman for SSP Hyderabad has commended the efforts of SSP Irfan Ali Baloch for combating the high crime ratio. He said the SSP arranged special trainings for police personnel by Pakistan Army commandoes, which has brought the fruits.
