Sindh High Court (SHC), on Tuesday, dismissed a petition of Nabil Gabol seeking security over life threats in the wake of assurances from the Sindh government. News sources claimed that the former minister had urged the court to direct the government in this regard because he was facing threat to his life after leaving the Muttahida Qaumi Movement (MQM). However, the Sindh government told the court said that he was being provided with security as per court orders. Justice Abdul Malik remarked as the hearing went underway, “We hear such news reports all day.” Cases of common men should also be given attention in courts as the protection of the life of every citizen was the responsibility of the state, he added.
