Passengers made the NHA officials responsible of road accidents for using delaying tactics to complete the Double road project from Jamshoro to Sehwan. They demanded from Chief Justice of Supreme Court to take the action against project director of NHA- from Jamshoro to Sehwan Indus Highway- for not completing this road leading to accidents and hundreds of passengers losing their lives while many becoming disabled owing to road mishaps. Chief Minister Syed Murad Ali Shah laid the foundation stone of a scheme under which Jamshoro-Sehwan road is to be converted to a dual carriageway at Petaro near Toll plaza Jamshoro on 13 December 2017. According to passengers, 500 people were killed and 1,000 were injured in road accidents at different places of this road from Jamshoro to Sehwan in last two years. A car traveler Essa Panhwar said that despite deaths of passengers due to road accidents on this rout, the NHA officials were doing corruption, using substandard material and using delaying tactics in the construction. Another coach passenger Zafar Panhwar said that there was deep rooted corruption in this dualisation of road project. He said that from top to bottom, officials of NHA were involved in the nefarious practice and therefore, they were not paying due attention to construct the road. Passengers accused NHA officials of using delaying tactics while lamenting on frequency of road accidents The citizens have demanded the compensation for those who have died in road accidents on this route from Jamshoro to Sehwan. Talking to this reporter, DC Jamshoro Captain retired Fareed uddin Mustafa briefed that following directives of Syed Murad Ali Shah, he was holding meetings with NHA Project Director Saeed Ahmed Shaikh and other officials to review the progress on monthly basis. He said that as soon as this dual road is completed, the passengers would be protected from the happenings of major accidents. He said that coordination was underway with motorway police. Motorway police officials were diploid at different places of this road to reduce the speed of motor vehicles for safety of passengers.
