The formation of Search Committees by the Higher Education Commission, on the direction of Government of the Punjab, for appointment of vice chancellors of various universities in Punjab has been challenged in the Lahore High Court. Justice Muzzamil Akhtar Shabbir of the Lahore High Court on Monday issued notice to the respondents and sought comments from the Punjab Government. Petitioner Zohaib Imran Shiekh, through his lawyer, has pleaded that under the rules presence of technical person is must in the Search Committees, but there are no are technical persons in the Search Committees appointed by the Punjab Government.
