Federal Minister for Water Resources, Faisal Vawda, on Saturday, urged the Sindh High Court (SHC) to dispose of a petition filed by the Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) president, Shehbaz Sharif, against the results of general polls in NA-249, Karachi. Vawda submitted his response through a citizen, Hasnain Ali Chohan, who stated that Shehbaz’s petition could not be acted upon as it bore fake signatures of the Opposition Leader in the National Assembly, and requested the court to throw away the petition. The PML-N President challenged the victory of his rival candidate on NA-249 seat in the July 2018 general polls in the high court. He had told the court that there were massive irregularities in the election process in the constituency. “Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf’s Faisal Vawda only won from NA-249 owing to irregularities in the vote count process,” he had argued.
