The Punjab government has transferred Rawalpindi Waste Management Company (RWMC) Chief Executive Officer (CEO) Asim Ayub, who was posted a couple of weeks ago. According to sources, he was transferred allegedly for taking stern action against ghost employees of the company and irregularities while undertaking drastic steps for better performance of the company. He was posted as CEO on Feb 2, 2019 Now, he has posted as Director Provincial Disaster Management Authority Lahore. In his 25 days in the office, he sacked more than 35 ghost employees, installed bio metric machines for attendance in the office and took measures to ensuring code of conduct by employees. Apart from that, Close Circuit Television (CCTV) cameras were also installed in the Waste Transfer Station at Laiquat Bagh for the monitoring performance of the company. The sources went on to say that he was going to introduce fuel refilling cards in vehicles to control misuse of the company vehicles. The ruling party PTI local leadership, however, was unhappy by the strict measure taken by Asim Ayub over the irregularities and pressurized the provincial government to transfer him from the post.
