ISLAMABAD: Pakistan’s Defence Minister Khawaja Asif on Monday warned neighbouring India of severe consequences in case it tried to conduct a real surgical strike. Winding up debate on a motion regarding the situation arising out of continuing Indian violations on the Line of Control (LOC) and Working Boundary (WB), the minister said, “If India dares to carry out surgical strike inside Pakistan, it will forget to conduct even fake and false strike.” “The first surgical strike by India was also fake,” said the minister, adding that the entire farce of the surgical strikes was created to dupe the Indian nation. According to the defence minister, India wanted to link the ongoing freedom struggle in Indian-held Kashmir to terrorism and infiltration. Pakistan would continue to provide diplomatic and moral support to the people of the occupied territory, Khawaja Asif said. Khawaja Asif said that Pakistan has garnered success in the war against terrorism. “The coalition of 16 countries’ militaries in Afghanistan was no way near our level of success,” he added. He said that the armed forces successfully eliminated the terrorist safe havens in North Waziristan. The Senate also unanimously passed a resolution against Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi for linking terrorism to Pakistan. Modi had branded Pakistan a “mothership of terrorism” at the summit of Brazil, Russia, India, China and South Africa (BRICS) in October.
