LAHORE: Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) leader Chaudhry Muhammad Sarwar is likely to contest next general elections from the provincial capital, Daily Times has learnt. Reliable sources told Daily Times on Wednesday that PTI Chairman Imran Khan wanted to field a strong candidate to capture one of the important seats. Sarwar, who has also served as the Punjab governor, belongs to Toba Tek Singh district. A close aide of the former governor said that he (Sarwar) would contest next general elections from National Assembly constituency NA-118 (Shahdara). Hamid Zaman, who contested the last elections on the same seat from the PTI, had already the party that he was not available for any political activity citing domestic reasons. Sources added that Imran Khan had advised Chaudhry Sarwar to start the election campaign in the constituency. Published in Daily Times, July 6th , 2017.
