Association of Builders and Developers of Pakistan (ABAD) chairman Muhammad Hassan Bakshi has proposed a housing society for family members of martyred policemen and offered to build houses on no profit no loss basis as the social responsibility of ABAD. He also proposed to open a bank account for financial help of family members of martyred policemen and appealed all people to deposit their donations in proposed bank account. He was addressing a meeting with South deputy inspector general (DIG) Javed Alam Odho at ABAD House on Wednesday. ABAD chairman praised police department for supporting and assisting members of ABAD in carrying out their business in safe and secure environment. He said that members of ABAD were working day and night for the betterment of national economy. He also assured South DIG of his whole-hearted support to police department. “We are striving to make this city and the country sound in term of economy,” he said. Muhammad Hassan Bakshi said that businessmen want to serve the country but a conducive business environment was the need of the hour. Addressing the meeting, South DIG Javed Alam Odho welcomed proposal of ABAD chairman and said that great nations always remembered their martyrs. He revealed that Sindh government had announced to allot plots to family members of martyred policemen. “With the help of ABAD we will build a housing society for them on no profit, no loss basis,” he added. He said that police department needed a morgue and place for ritual bath to dead policemen. ABAD chairman assured to build these facilities at the earliest. DIG saidthat Karachi police had many important tasks and it was learning to solve its problems itself. He asked ABAD members to establish industries of construction material which will provide locally manufactured cost-effective raw materials and also provide jobs to a large number of people, he said. He added that this step would be helpful in controlling law and order in the city. Addressing the gathering Convener Law and Order Committee of ABAD Asif Sumsum said that the period before 2014 was very critical for builders and developers but the police department assisted them. “Sindh police played front role in establishing peace in the city and now we have no complaint to forward to police,” he said. At the end of the program ABAD chairman Abdul Kareem Adhia thanked distinguished guests and paid tribute to Sindh Police for establishing peace in the city. Senior vice chairman ABAD Anwar Dawood, vice chairman Abdul Kareem Adhia, southern region Ibrahim chairman Habib, convener law and order and anti-encroachment cell ABAD, SSP South A M Shah, SSP Investigation Tariq Rana Dharejo and other police officials were also present on this occasion.
