LAHORE: The Supreme Court (SC) on Sunday directed city authorities to submit land details required in Mansha Bomb case. During the hearing of a suo moto notice at the SC’s Lahore registry, the top judge ordered the Lahore Development Authority (LDA) and Punjab Revenue Department to submit details of the land grabbed by Malik Mansha Ali Khokhar alias ‘Mansha Bomb’. District commissioner Lahore informed the court that the LDA had yet to hand over the petitioners the land recovered from Mansha. Earlier, on Saturday, Chief Justice Saqib Nisar had ?directed the concerned authorities to hand over the lands recovered from grabber to their ?real owners. The top judge had reprimanded the deputy inspector general by saying, “The police of naya Pakistan should be ashamed as they defend gangsters. This police cannot even control one Mansha Bomb.” Mansha Bomb was arrested from SC during his first appearance after going in hiding to ?avoid arrest in LDA team attack case. While talking to media, Mansha had claimed innocence and said he had inherited the properties in question from his father. He said that the cases against him were politically motivated as his son was contesting for the seat of Union Council chairman on Pakistan Tehreek-i-Insaf (PTI) ticket. Mansha hailed from Lahore and allegedly ran a large land grabbing ring in Johar Town. He was wanted by law enforcement agencies in over 90 cases of land encroachment, ?firing at the police, murder and attempted murder. Published in Daily Times, December 3rd 2018.
