KARACHI: President Dr Arif Alvi on Sunday urged the people to buy local products after recent downfall of the Pakistani rupee against US dollar. The President tweeted, “Considering pressure on Pakistani rupee, I urge Pakistanis to buy ‘Made in Pakistan’.” He added, “In this time of crisis we must try to avoid luxury goods and avoidable imported purchases. It finally closed at an all-time low of Rs139.05 to the US dollar in the inter-bank market. Moreover, the rupee has lost its value by a massive 36 percent against the dollar over the past 12 months.
