Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) leader Syed Khursheed Ahmed Shah said that he was falsely accused of grabbing Hindu community’s land and he would quit politics if the allegations against him were proved while talking to journalists in Sukkur on Saturday. “No one can prove that we grabbed even an inch of land,” said the PPP politician. He said that he recovered land worth Rs10 million (m) from land grabbers in Sukkur and he said being falsely implicated in occupation of properties belong to the Hindu community. He also lashed out at the court for alleging that he was involved in taking over land of minorities. The PPP leader also lambasted PM Khan over his recent plan to eradicate poverty from the country with the help of poultry.Syed Khusheed Shah said that Pakistan was being laughed at over the ‘chicken and eggs statement’ of PM Khan. “Most politicians talk about making the country a nuclear power and strengthening the federation but about chickens and eggs,” he remarked. “Debt has increased owing to the hike in the price of dollar,” he pointed out. Shah said that economies could not be fixed by petty shows of power and there was a need to sit together and formulate a plan for the future. “We have always said that we want to move forward together,” maintained the politician. “Issues are resolved through the supremacy of Parliament. Issues will not be resolved by saying that you will send us to jail or hang us,” said the PPP leader. Criticising PM Khan, the leader of the opposition said that PM Khan said that his wife constantly reminded him that he was the prime minister of the country. “If a man needs constant reminders that he is the prime minister, who will believe that he is the prime minister? ” he asked. Khursheed Shah said that the government answer to problems was to challenge opposition to come out and block cities with containers. “If all the roads are blocked by containers, how would the government run the country’s affairs?” asked Shah. “It seems like the prime minister is still ruling the country from atop a container,” he commented.
