The Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) on Saturday responded back after facing huge criticism on the Prime Minister (PM) Imran Khan’s proposal to eliminate poverty with the help of poultry business. While addressing a ceremony to mark PTI’s 100-days in the office on November 29, the PM stated that the government will provide eggs and chickens to rural women so they can start their own poultry business. PM Khan said that this project has been tested and the government will give injections to the women for raising chickens faster, adding that this way they will have food to eat and more chicken and eggs to sell. The PTI tweeted in order to explain PM’s chicken plan and referred Microsoft founder Bill Gates campaign which helped the poor families in Africa by giving them chickens in 2016. It further says, “if PM Imran talks about it, it becomes an issue”. Here’s the tweet: Microsoft founder @BillGates launched a campaign to help extremely poor families in Africa by giving them chickens. However, when PM Imran Khan talks about it, it becomes an issue.Propagandists really can't rise above their hate! https://t.co/9QiGwpCeAA — Tehreek-e-Insaf (@InsafPK) November 30, 2018 Moreover, Bill Gates said on his personal blog about his campaign that he had through work with the foundation and met many people in poor countries who raise chickens and learned a lot about their ins and outs of owning these birds. He said that to him it’s pretty clear that just about anyone who’s living in extreme poverty is better off if they have chickens. Gates further stated that if he was living in their situation, he would’ve done the same as it is easy to take care of birds and are a good investment which keeps children healthy and empower women. The Prime Minister himself also tweeted to explain what he had said about the chicken plan Here’s the PM’s tweet: For the colonised minds when desis talk about chickens combating poverty they get mocked, but when "walaitis" talk about desi chicken and poverty it's brilliance! https://t.co/bjvQQIVoRv — Imran Khan (@ImranKhanPTI) December 1, 2018 On the other hand, PM Khan’s proposal is making rounds on the social media platforms and people are literally laughing out loud. Here how twitterati’s reacted to PM Khan proposal: Eggs, chickens, more eggs then more chikens. What a nonesense. Please bring some realist policies to elevate the lives of the poors. @ImranKhanPTI @Asad_Umar @HamidMirPAK — Tasawar Ashraf (@T_AshrafMalik) November 30, 2018 Kashif Malik asked, “If this chickonomics the outcome of PM’s visit to Malaysia?”. Is #chickonomics the outcome of Malaysia visit? #chicken #chickeneggs — Kashif Malik (@Kash_malik) December 1, 2018 https://twitter.com/azharali7071/status/1068768394881744896 He isn't PM, chicken business needs low capital, you don't need to be in government to do all that, focus on better policy making, not the works that even NGOs can do. A person on PM level is talking about eggs business disgrace, ever saw Bush or Obama talking about it? — Tayyab Memon (@TayyabMemon) December 1, 2018 People are unhappy and shocked to see their PM talking about chicken business in order eliminate poverty from the country.
