ISLAMABAD: The capital territory police has failed to give security to the people as 26 people were kidnapped from Islamabad in 26 days including 12 young girls, two minor girls and four men. During the first 26 days of the new year, some 15 cases of ‘ kidnapping of some 18 people were registered in different police stations of the city. Most of the young girls aged 18 to 25 years were abducted, while the four men who were kidnapped from the capital including two social media bloggers Salman Haider , Professor in Fatima Jinnah Women University Rawalpindi and Syed Samar Abbas. Their abduction leaves a impact that it was an effort to curtail freedom of expression. The remaining two persons were abducted under the jurisdiction of Golra and Tarnol Police Stations. However police failed to recover all four missing men. Police Station Shalimar recovered three girls but the kidnapper managed to escape from the crime scene, but the police is making efforts to apprehend him. Similarly Police Station Koral has also retrieved one girl and arrested two culprits. The father of two girls has withdrawn the case as both aged 11 and 9 have reached home. The police could not trace out the whereabout of six young abducted girls so far. The police record said that all the girls were kidnapped for rape purpose. The police sources said that the some of the cases were transferred to the CIA , while some false cases were also registered. Due to increasing incidents of kidnapping from the capital, the dwellers of Islamabad have appealed to the ministry of interior as well as the IG Police to take action for ensuring their protection.
