ISLAMABAD: Judicial Magistrate Haider Shah has issued two days physical remand of accused Muhammad Ashraf who had injured a policeman by firing bullets on him in Sector I-8 Islamabad. A constable of Eagle Squad Abdul Hamid was critically injured after the accused opened fire on him when he was signaled by police to stop on suspicion in the area of I-8/4 falling under the jurisdiction of Industrial Area police. Industrial Area police had registered a FIR against the accused under terrorism charges and sought 3-days physical remand against him from court on Saturday. The police told the court that through the initial investigation, the accused was found a professional dacoit. The pistol he used in firing on police was also recovered from him and for further investigation; physical remand of the accused is required. The court then handed over the accused to the police on 2-days physical remand. The accused will now be presented before the Anti-Terrorism Court (ATC). It may be added that the injured constable Abdul Hamid was shot by the bullet in his stomach and was rushed to PIMS in a critical condition. The police told that doctors have removed bullet from the abdomen of Abdul Hamid but he was not yet shifted to general ward from the ICU of PIMS.
