International Islamic University Islamabad (IIUI) President Dr Ahmed Yousif Ahmed Al Draiweesh called on Federal Minister of State Shehryar Khan Afridi on Sunday. Issues related to betterment of Muslim world, Saudi-Pakistan ties and education were discussed in the meeting. Shehryar Khan Afridi said that Pakistan gives great importance to its ties with the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia. He said that both nations are close to each other. He also expressed that there is dire need for institutions of Muslim world to inculcate latest knowledge and technology to empower Muslim world to uplift and give them respect. On the occasion, IIUI President Dr Ahmed Yousif Ahmed Al-Draiweesh presented an overview of the IIUI. He highlighted the importance of the university and its role in disseminating peace and discouraging extremism. Dr Ahmed Yousif Ahmed Al-Draiweesh also invited the minister of state to visit IIUI and share the vision of a new Pakistan with students. IIUI Academics Department Vice President Dr Tahir Khalili, IIUI Adviser to President Dr Azizur Rehman, IIUI Basic & Applied Sciences Department Dean Dr Arshad Zia and IIUI Provost Muhammad Shoaib Abdullah were also present in the meeting.
