Advisor to Sindh Chief Minister (CM) for information Barrister Murtaza Wahab announced that the Sindh government was establishing state-of-art forensic laboratory and a feasibility and technical report had already been formulated. This he stated while talking to a delegation of journalists. He rejected the notion that facility of forensic laboratory was not available in Sindh. He added that forensic investigation and research were conducted at Liaqat University Medical and Health Sciences, Jamshoro. “However it was not equipped with latest tools,” he said. He said that Sindh government had decided to establish a well-equipped forensic laboratory on modern lines in Malir district. He said that the demarcation of land had been completed while funds had also been allocated in this regard. Provincial Advisor said that within the next two and half years, Sindh government will deliver another precious institution, Sindh Forensic Laboratory to the people of Sindh province. “Lahore Forensic laboratory merely conducts DNA test, while Sindh forensic laboratory will be equipped with latest equipment available in the world which will help conduct all kinds of scientific investigations,” he added. Barrister Murtaza Wahab said that arrangements had been made for upgradation and extension of the forensic laboratory for future. He said that the facility for forensic investigation would be extended to national and international institutions similar to HEJ Institute of Karachi University to financially strengthen Sindh forensic laboratory. Provincial Advisor added that establishment of Sindh forensic laboratory according to the vision of Pakistan People’s Party (PPP) chairman Bilawal Bhutto Zaradari and added that everyone residing in Pakistan could get services from this laboratory.
