On an invitation to Radio Pakistan Hyderabad, I saw a little boy performing classical song for radio program, I was shocked at the style he was singing classical tunes. My interest led me to know more about his keen interest in music in this digital era. The 8-years-old Izat Ali Khan, cute with the overload smartness, is a primary school student and has been taking musical classes for the last 9 months from his father, pride of Pakistan and Sitara-e-Imtiaz award winning singer Ustad Fateh Ali Khan. The 8-year-old says he will soon become the identification for classical music. “I am preparing myself to sing at the stage of Lateef Sirkar” Izat Ali Khan says “It was my dream to follow in the footsteps of my father and to do something unique rather than following the temporary trends and modern pop music.” Khan told Daily Times that soon he will become the identification for classical music, “I am preparing myself to sing at the stage of Lateef Sirkar,” he added. “To preserve the heritage of classical music my target is to compose melodious classical tunes with outstanding command over sur.” “In Pakistan there are no proper channels available for the people to exhibit their talent.
