Chief of Army Staff (COAS) General Qamar Javed Bajwa Thursday said threats to national security demand a comprehensive national response involving all institutions of state. “The full spectrum of threat demands comprehensive national response involving all institutions of state,” the army chief said during his keynote address on ‘Security of Pakistan’ at a three-day international conference on ‘Radicalization: Perceptions, Realities and Challenges of Campus Life’ here at the at the Air University. The army chief talked in detail about the security situation of the country as well as his vision of enduring peace in Pakistan and in the region. Highlighting internal and external challenges to the national security, he underscored Pakistan’s resolve and determination to confront the global phenomenon of terrorism and extremism and cleanse Pakistan of the menace. He said that army will keep doing all that is required for provision of secure environment for sustained socio-economic progress of the country. In the end, the army chief said the armed forces and the nation have sacrificed a lot to bring back stability across the country. “Terrorism has been effectively contained with nation’s complete support, but we need to remain vigilant and follow the correct course to move from survival to revival,” he added. Earlier, on arrival the army chief was received by Chief of Air Staff Air Chief Marshal Mujahid Anwar Khan and Air University Vice Chancellor Air Vice Marshal (r) Faaiz Amir.
