Osvaldo, who recently retired from football and now hopes for a promising career in the world of music. When asked whether he would want to have a life like Messi, the former Italian forward was quick to say a NO. “No, I would not want to have a life like Messi. I would like to play like him, but not have a life his Messi, because he has no life. It is like he lives in a Golden prison,” Osvaldo told Spanish newspaper Marca. Osvaldo said that there is not much fun being Messi outside a football pitch. Messi can not quietly go out and have a drink like normal people, and that’s not what I want to do, said the footballer. “Messi might have the biggest TV in the world, but he does not have the privilege to sit and relax in his living room. That’s not the kind of life I want to sign up for,” Osvaldo said. He also talked about his post-football plans saying that he has formed a band Barrio Viejo in Barcelona and will spend the rest of his time making music. Osvaldo is not the first footballer-turned-musician, ex-Barcelona stars Jose Manuel Pinto and David Villa have also produced music.
