LAHORE: The Walled City of Lahore Authority (WCLA) has decided to offer ‘Rangeela Rickshaw – Lahori Shashka’ service for wedding events. The service would be available for wedding events at just Rs 5,000 per day. Earlier, the service was available for tourists visiting the Walled City of Lahore. An estimated 6,500 tourists had enjoyed the rickshaw ride until now since its launch in April 2015. Currently, as many as 15 rickshaws are providing services to tourists and the WCLA is likely to increase the number of rickshaws. Talking to Daily Times, WCLA Director General Kamran Lashari that the rickshaws had been exclusively designed to run on the planned routes. “Now the WCLA has decided to offer this service for everyone after the rising interest of general public,” he said, adding that the WCLA had received over 300 applications seeking services of ‘Rangeela Rickshaw’ in the last few months. It may be mentioned that the ‘Rangeela Rickshaw’ service is available for tourists on three different routes, Delhi Gate to Fort Road, Bhatti to Fort Road and around gates of Lahore. These routes cover several main sites, bazaars and eating points, including Delhi Gate, Shahi Hammam, Wazir Khan Masjid, Pani Wala Talaab, Food Street, Bhatti Gate, Allama Iqbal House, Faqir Khana Museum, Naqsh Art Gallery, Sheran Wala Gate, Kashmiri Gate, Masti Gate, Shah Alam Gate, and Akbari Gate.
