LAHORE: Justice Muhammad Ameer Bhatti of the Lahore High Court (LHC) Friday while hearing a contempt petition regarding sale of a historical residential building in Wazirabad despite a stay order, summoned Gujranwala Deputy Commissioner Amir Jan (DC). The court directed the DC to appear on February 13. The counsel for petitioner submitted that the court on January 25 stayed the sale of the historical building ‘Musamman Burj’. He alleged that despite court’s orders of not changing the present status of the building, revenue officials along with police personnel had facilitated the illegal sale and also helped them [buyers] obtain illegal possession. He requested the court to initiate contempt proceedings against the deputy commissioner for flouting the court’s order.
