Muttahida Qaumi Movement-Pakistan (MQM-P) leader Syed Ali Raza Abidi might leave the party over disagreements regarding ticket distribution for NA-243 by elections. “The party leadership does not need me so I will decide soon whether to leave or stay,” said Abidi on Friday. Ali Raza Abidi said that he was demoralized after MQM-P did not consider his name for the by elections in NA-243. The MQM-P leader said that he had worked hard in that constituency. Sources said that Abidi was not considered for the seat because he was supporting Farooq Sattar and not the Bahadurabad Group. Farooq Sattar’s spokesperson confirmed that Abidi was ignored because he lent support to Sattar. “Farooq Sattar suggested Ali Raza for the seat because he did a lot of work in the constituency, but the leadership rejected Sattar’s suggestion,” said the spokesperson. Meanwhile, MQM-P leader Amin ul Haq confirmed that Abidi’s name was not being considered for NA-243 by elections. Published in Daily Times, September 1st 2018.
