KARACHI: The legal proceedings at the Sindh High Court and subordinate courts of the city remained suspended as the legal fraternity observed a full-day strike to mourn the victims of Lal Shahbaz Qalandar shrine bombing. The Sindh Bar Council had given the call for a strike to protest the security lapse that led to the blast on the premises of the shrine which took over 80 lives and left around 200 injured. The courts presented a deserted look as lawyers stayed away from the courts. The Sindh High Court Bar Associations general body meeting was convened by its president Shahab Sarki to condemn the brutal attack. The legal fraternity held that the federal and provincial security agencies have been failing to protect the lives of innocent and defenseless citizens. The bar association demanded of the government to provide foolproof security to educational institutions, mosques and shrines in the country.
