DI KHAN: Three people were shot dead in what Counter-Terrorism Department (CTD) described as sectarian attacks by militants on Wednesday in Dera Ismail Khan in Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa (KP). According to the CTD sources, the first incident occurred near a mosque at Choudhana square while the second and third attacks took place within the jurisdiction of the Parawo police station. Haider Ali, a resident Mahra Adda area, died on the spot, whereas a youth identified as Hifatullah was rushed to a hospital, where he succumbed to his injuries. The angry residents of the area blocked the Indus Highway to protest against the latest wave of sectarian attacks. Published in Daily Times, August 9th 2018.
