Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) Karachi President Firdous Shamim Naqvi came under fire for being too rude to a journalist during a press conference here on Monday. Shamim reportedly threatened a journalist, AK Mohsin, who asked if he was a member of builder mafia in the city. “I will file a case against you,” Shamim said while referring to the journalist when asked if he had started a project near the Karachi airport against the airport security and building by-laws. “If you are willing, you can file the case but you will have to clarify your position,” said the journalist. Shamim then left dais without giving any statement. After this, media bodies demanded the leadership of PTI to take action against Shamim. On the other hand, the Karachi Union of Journalists (KUJ) condemned the Naqvi’s attitude and asked for an apology. Published in Daily Times, August 7th 2018.
